FUNDING A USTARTUP

How do I fund a project?

You may search for ongoing projects that need funding from the front page or search for projects under varioius search terms. On the project page, click on the funding levels to select how much you want to fund or enter your own amount. When you process payment via WePay, it may take 5 to 10 minutes for the payment to appear in the project page.

Is my account safe when I place it in this website?

Yes, we do not store credit card and payment information on our site. Payments are handled by our credit card processor, WePay. To know more about WePay's security features, visit: https://www.wepay.com/about/security

How is payment done? Can people outside US fund a project?

Payment is done through the WePay payment facility with a credit card. WePay accepts payment from anywhere in the world.

After I fund, when is my card charged?

Your credit card is charged immediately, though it may take some time to be approved.

Can we pay through cash or check?

No, only credit card payments are accepted.

Are we given rewards for funding a uStartup?

The project owner specifies what rewards, if any, are awarded for each funding level. However, you may also opt to fund a project without receiving a reward.

Are pledges tax-deductible?

Generally, pledges are not tax-deductible. Tax-deductibility is the sole responsibility of the project owner. Contact the project owner directly for questions about tax-deductibility.

WePay to Fund uStartups

You do not need to set up an account to make payments on WePay.

If you choose to set up a WePay account, uStartups does not store your WePay account credentials on our site for security purposes.

Each time a donation is made to your project, you will receive an email notification.
